Our Commitment

Rosa Parks said, “To bring about change, you must not be afraid to take the first step. We will fail when we fail to try.

The wrongful deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Sandra Bland, and the countless others who have died at the hands of racial violence have asked us not only to pause and reflect but most importantly, to take a stand. The Live Alive community joins in solidarity with the many thousands of voices around the world speaking out against iniquity and oppression and taking action toward racial equality.

Live Alive, at its core, is about living life aligned with our values, leaning on the support of our personal board of directors, and moving into action with purposeful accountability. Like never before, we are called to support one another in shaping our personal and collective stories.

For some in our community, the recent events and countless others before are deeply and personally known and we commit to amplifying their voices while we stand in activism and solidarity, understanding this long-fought fight has far exceeded the current headlines.

For others, we recognize we will never holistically understand and are committed to examining and recognizing where our own unconscious biases and privilege have impeded the freedoms and opportunities of others and where our silence has paused the steps toward justice and vow to do the work of change.

Together we will go unafraid.

As we move forward, we are dedicated to illuminating the path for our members with consciousness and compassion, gathering and sharing anti-racist resources, and channeling our discussions toward difficult, mindful, and honest conversation through a wide range of voices and with supportive circular accountability. We commit to continuing to guide and encourage our members to do the work of aligning their actions and goals according to their personal values and life callings as we understand that systemic change must begin within us. We vow to speak out against injustices, highlighting opportunities to channel resources and heightening our collaborative partnerships with organizations and leaders actively enlightening the path toward eliminating oppression.

To that end, as we open up registration for our July series, a portion of each registration fee will be donated to the Loveland Foundation and Figure Skating in Harlem who are actively doing the work of elevating wellness and opportunities for black women and girls. Join us in unanimity and support of our black community, our Live Alive membership, and all people of color.

Black Lives Matter.

In solidarity,

The Live Alive Family
